About the event

Take advantage of this guided tour to get some fresh air at the Louvre, focusing on discovering the Richelieu Wing, the least known and least frequented part of the museum.

Indeed, lasting 1h30 to 2h, depending on your wishes, this tour will give you the opportunity to discover, or rediscover, the most recent wing in the long history of the museum, the one that served for more than a century to house the apartments of the Ministry of State (until 1989!), before its spaces were reassigned to the Louvre, under François Mitterrand. And don't worry, just because we won't see the Venus de Milo or the Mona Lisa doesn't mean we won't have anything to discover: the Richelieu Wing is indeed full of other treasures, both French and Mesopotamian sculpture (have you ever heard of Babylon and Khorsabad?), as well as painting from the French schools (Fouquet, Clouet, Poussin, Le Lorrain) or Northern Europe (Rubens, Vermeer, Van Eyck, Van Dyck, Dürer, Rembrandt, and so many others)... not to mention its majestic Napoleon III apartments, one of the last manifestos in Paris of the Second Empire style, alongside the Opéra Garnier. It is also there that we will learn more about the origin of the expression "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", or admire the official portrait of King Francis I (1494-1547). The tour can be adapted to a disabled or mobility-impaired audience.

Do not hesitate to contact me for any request for a personalized quote or information.

Please note that the guided tour does not include the purchase price of the time-stamped ticket at the museum (you can check here if you are eligible for the reduction or free admission): this cost is your responsibility, and you must add the price of the guided tour.
