About the event
An emblematic cathedral of the Middle Ages, an essential monument in the history of France and the Parisian landscape, Notre-Dame de Paris is probably the most famous of French religious buildings. Located on the Île de la Cité , in the heart of Paris, its construction launched on the initiative of Bishop Maurice de Sully extended over several centuries, from the year 1163 to the 19th century.
Having almost disappeared after the French Revolution, dismembered by the "demolitionists" and then general indifference, it was necessary to wait for the romantic surge to which Victor Hugo largely contributed with his eponymous novel, Notre-Dame-de-Paris , in 1831, for public opinion to finally decide to preserve this high place of Christianity, and quite simply, of the national historical heritage . Closer to us, it was still the terrible fire of 2019 which revived the possibility of a definitive disappearance of the cathedral, fortunately recorded by the courage of the firefighters.
In order to revisit this eventful history, and to discover in particular the formidable restoration work carried out by the craftsmen, which enabled the cathedral to reopen on December 7, 2024, I suggest a guided tour of this historic site.
Please note that guided tours inside the cathedral will only be possible from June 9, 2024, and that the reservation of audiophones is mandatory for reasons of comfort, the cathedral remaining a place of worship frequented by the faithful.
The official ticket office opens from March 2025 , do not hesitate to contact me as soon as possible to benefit from a guided tour in preview of the building.
