Guided tours of the "Louvre Couture" exhibition at the Louvre Museum

For the first time, from 24 January 2025, the Louvre Museum will present a groundbreaking exhibition on fashion, through a unique dialogue between masterpieces from the museum’s Department of Decorative Arts and fashion pieces from the 20th to the 21st century, ranging from Cristóbal Balenciaga to Iris van Herpen.

Indeed, with the temporary exhibition “Louvre Couture: Works of Art, Fashion Objects”, the public will have the opportunity to draw connections between the numerous textile artworks in the museum’s collections (despite the museum lacking a department dedicated to the history of fashion) and their influence on leading fashion designers, thus breaking down the barriers between the fine arts and the world of fashion, all within a tour that allows you to rediscover the lesser-known rooms of the Louvre’s Richelieu Wing, culminating in the Napoleon III apartments, a true masterpiece of the Second Empire.
